Research Area: integrative neuroscience, descending control of motor and autonomic function, sensorimotor integration

Research

We are currently working on:

- Role of reticulospinal neurons in the initiation and regulation of locomotion

- Integration of sensory and descending inputs by spinal neurons

- Role of reticulospinal neurons in the regulation of vasomotor tone in skeletal muscle

Tools: Single-cell calcium imaging, electrophysiology, laser photostimulation, anatomical tracing, mouse genetics

Clinical relevance: spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, stroke and orthostatic hypotension
