The Center for Cell & Molecular Signaling
is a multidisciplinary and interdepartmental research unit. Administratively,
the Center is a Division of the Department of Physiology, directed
by Dr. Douglas C. Eaton and co-directed by
Dr. Jeff Sands. Fiscally, the Center receives
a small amount of support as a direct line item in the Medical School
budget. Academically, all the investigators hold faculty positions
in traditional Medical School Departments. Currently, the Center
has eleven investigators: six from Physiology, two from Medicine,
and one each from Anesthesiology, Pathology, and Pediatrics. One
investigator also has an appointment at the VA Medical Center. In
addition, Center members have established close collaborations with
investigators at other institutions including the Medical College
of Georgia, University of Pennsylvania, Morehouse School of Medicine,
and Spelman College. |
